To all our players, coaches, managers, supporters, parents, sponsors, VPs, life members, committees, directors, volunteers, and staff who ensure that we continue to be an organised, respected, and successful North Midland’s Rugby Club.

We offer a massive thankyou for all that you do for BRFC.

It is wonderful to be able to reflect upon a full season of rugby at Bridgnorth RFC following two seasons of disruption due to the COVID pandemic.

In 2021/2022 we saw our club enjoy more highlights than lowlights on the field of play with both the First XV and the Women’s XV again achieving considerable success in their respective leagues.

Witnessing the away win at Sheffield RFC was a personal highlight as is the embracing of the #One Club ethos by the whole of the Women’s Section.

The first XV secured 4th place in the league this season – its highest position and with its highest points scored.

Next season sees a RFU restructure and second XV entry into the leagues, which will mean the first XV will be playing in Regional 1 Midlands  with less league fixtures, less travel and the reintroduction of the cup competition.

The second team will be competing in the competitive league structure next season in Counties 2 Midlands North -West for the first time, playing against more local teams.

The Women finished the season in second place in the National Challenge 1 Midlands League, a wonderful achievement after a first-season promotion into the league.

The U18 girls are benefiting from coaching from Charlie Vidor and getting game time in a Shropshire barbarians’ side. A recruitment drive is planned over the coming months with a taster session at Swancote for Y6 and above 6th July 5pm-7pm.

The Mini and Junior Awards Day was an outstanding success. It was evident that blood, sweat and tears had gone into making the season so joyous and successful for all our young players. Many thanks to players, parents and volunteers.

The M&Js invest in a colts and junior coach to improve player skills and coaching techniques- the Project has been running for 3 years and is proving beneficial. This has resulted in an increase in quality colts progressing to senior rugby.  It is also good to note the successes our Colts have achieved. We look forward to watching some play in Senior sides next season.

For those who wish to enjoy a little bit of social fitness Touch Rugby continues on a Wednesday night at 7pm where youth meet experience. All 14+ welcome to come down to the EDG.

In terms of our commitment to the community, congratulations must go to BRFC for its achievement of charitable status and all its charitable endeavours in supporting worthy causes.

Next season we will witness the start of a new stage in the life of BRFC as our new Club house begins to rise from the EDG turf. The drainage works will start last week in June / early July and the clubhouse will follow on from that. It is still our intention to complete the club house construction in time for the start of the 2023 / 24 season

Please be a part of the story and support your fantastic club in whatever way you can.
