Site works for the new Clubhouse at the Edgar Davies Ground commenced in August 2022 and since that time we have seen the preliminary works, site clearance, excavations, foundations, concreting and sheet piling works progressing. In addition to this the fabrication and manufacture of the structural steelwork and the prestressed concrete planks which will form the frame and elevated floor of the building have been progressing in factories off site, the programmed period for these elements of the works was 16 weeks and these have now each been completed.
Now that a period of freezing weather and the Severn River flooding it’s banks have passed the Site team are pleased to report that the final concrete works to the foundations are complete and the steel delivery and erection will commence on site in early February with the prestressed concrete planks being installed thereafter. After a lengthy period where the manufacture of the main elements of the building were being completed members will have seen little progress at the site but this will now change as we see the structural frame of the building appearing over the next few weeks.

The photographs show the progress on site covering the final concrete being poured for the completion of the foundations and the installation of the interlocking sheet piling for retaining the Bandon Lane adjacent to the ramped entrance to the New Clubhouse.

Members may also have seen the signs erected on the Bull in Bridge Street where we have instructed Halls Estate Agents to act for Bridgnorth Rugby Club in securing the sale of our existing clubhouse premises where a number of parties have expressed interest.
We intend to issue to members regular reports on the progress of what is a major project for our Rugby Club and if you do have any queries or wish to discuss any of these matters please do not hesitate to contact me directly.
