“Our Old Clubhouse known as the Bull, Bridge Street, Bridgnorth has finally been sold in the sum of £285,000 to a West Midlands businessman named Kane Carolan who took possession of the property on the 23rd October 2023.
The Bull has been the home of Bridgnorth Rugby Club since 1978 and has provided us all, both current and past members with a treasure trove of memories.
This includes the many days and evenings spent there celebrating victories both on and off the field whether they were Shropshire Cup, a trip to Twickenham, North Midlands Trophies, Promotions or the many Ladies and Junior Rugby triumphs too. Many of the trophies and mementoes including the representative honours won by our current and former players which along with selected photographs and other memorabilia will be accompanying us as we move to our new Clubhouse facilities at the Edgar Davies Ground where the future of Bridgnorth Rugby Club is set to further grow.
Our President Mr Alun Stoll commented on the sale
“The Bull, and it’s memories, has played an integral part in the development and success of our wonderful rugby club these past 40 years plus. We are indebted to the ‘ instigators’ whose foresight enabled its potential as our HQ, that became a popular Mecca for travelling teams and visitors”
Thank you to Ian George our Facilities Manager in liaison with the new owner Kane Carolan, also a keen rugby man, have two events currently being organised for members to celebrate BRFC’s years of tenure at the Bull, a final farewell is planned for this Friday and Saturday where the final matches of this years RWC finals will be shown, details of this will follow separately”
