Job Description:
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Bridgnorth Rugby Club on a part time basis. We are seeking a secondary therapist to assist and support our lead sports therapist for the 2022/23 season.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Personally, providing consultations, diagnosis, acute treatment, and assessment of fitness to play/train for Bridgnorth rugby club.
- Planning, documenting, and implementing individualised injury rehabilitation programmes.
- Planning, documenting and delivering/ co-ordinating individualised injury rehabilitation programmes.
- Maintaining accurate medical records using paper-format, in accordance with GDPR protocols.
- Lead on pitch-side immediate care provision at training and matches
- Attend tournaments/matches as the team therapist as required. This will include evenings and weekends.
- Be responsible for the management and safe disposal of all physiotherapy equipment and consumable supplies needed for optimal treatment of the performance team.
There will be lone working so the ideal candidate will have good musculoskeletal assessment and treatment skills and sound clinical reasoning.
Person specification
Qualifications:
- Degree or equivalent in Physiotherapy, Sports Therapy or Sports Rehabilitation
- Membership with the appropriate governing body (SST/HCPC/BASRAT)
- Current or working towards Pitch-side Immediate Care Course Certificate (PHICIS Level 3 desirable or equivalent)
- Proof of continued medical education specific to sports and exercise medicine.
Skills & Experience:
- Sporting musculoskeletal experience both diagnostic and treatment to return to play.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Good IT skills.
- Experience in working in a sporting environment, ideally rugby union or other contact sports.
- Motivated to work under pressure, experience of self-dedicated work and working as part of a team.
- Access to own transport (desired but not essential)
Additional information:
- The post holder must maintain confidentiality of information and be aware of the Data Protection Act (1984) and access to Health Records Act (1990).
- The post holder will need to be cleared via DBS check.
